Select Committee into Cannabis and Hemp

The Co-op was privileged to be a part of the WA Government's Select Committee discussion on Cannabis and Hemp.

Nicole Botica and Gail Stubber put forward the case to improve WA farmers ability to use the whole of the industrial hemp plant thereby adding more value for their cropping choice

We also discussed dropping the need to be tested each season if certified seed had been sown.

There was a lot of interest in what options there might be for farmers  if whole of plant use approach was taken and the type of industries which could develop if this idea was enacted.

Attached are links to the full report and also the video of the your representatives and the Select Committee.  Nicole and Gail opted for a Zoom meeting as Gail had just tested positive for Covid 19.
