Last year the Co-op sent 16 different varieties of seed to Zimbabwe to allow them to research the growing patterns of industrial hemp in Zimbabwe.
Adelaide Uni researching hemp seeds for Australian climate
Prof. Rachel Burton, from the University of Adelaide is heading up a research team into finding hemp seeds with high oil and protien content. The team is also looking at find drought tolerant seeds, something very much needed for growing in WA vast wheatbelt areas.
